A recent letter from Mary reminds us that the Chinese year of the snake is upon us.

I am learning so much about Saskatchewan from Mary through her lovely art cards. This one depicts a painting by the Canadian artist, Allen Sapp. Allen Sapp grew up on a first nations reserve in north central Saskatchewan and Mary tells me that when he lived in North Battleford he used to be seen driving his pink Cadillac around town.

He is alive and well and 85 years old. His work can be seen in the Allen Sapp Gallery located in the Andrew Carnegie Library in North Battleford, Saskatchewan so if you are passing through check out the collection and the historic building housing it.
