Here in Vancouver we all awoke on November 1st to Christmas displays in most of the major retail stores. Bonkers.

While I am wary of contributing to more of that same hype, some of you may benefit from a little reminder that the deadlines for mailing parcels within Canada and outside the country are approaching. The deadlines for surface delivery have long passed so I won’t include those here. They were in October. Here’s a bit of useful info from the Canada Post website:

Canada Post suggests that you mail greetings and gifts by the following dates to ensure that parcels and cards mailed inside Canada arrive at their Canadian destinations in time for the 2012 holidays.

MAILING WITHIN CANADA
December 10 – Regular Parcels
December 17 – Cards / Letters – Outside the Province
December 18 – Cards / Letters – In the Same Province
December 19 – Cards / Letters – Local Delivery

Canada Post suggests that you mail greetings and gifts by the following dates to ensure that air mail letters, cards and small parcels from Canada arrive at their international destinations in time for the 2012 holidays.

MAILING OUTSIDE  OF CANADA
November 23 – Africa
December 3 – Asia
December 3 – Australia

December 3 – Middle East
December 3 – South America
December 14 – United States
