I found myself downtown recently waiting to pick up a job from the printers so I perused the Vancouver Public Library giftshop, Bookmark. Holy crap do they have a lot of cards. I ended up finding this gorgeous laser cut design which is winging its way to Jen and Brandon whose little guy, Cabot, was born a few weeks ago.

I took a picture of the inside of the card too to show you just what laser cutting does to paper. It burns it of course. And it leaves tell tale signs. This is why I tend to laser cut paper that’s not white. Brown paper (like the paper I use for my Nib & Tuck nature series) and black paper (used in the stained glass series) are better choices if you are looking to mask the singed edges and smokey residue.
