Today’s letter is for K—. I just looked back through my massive collection of correspondence from this friend, and it looks like we’ve been writing for about sixteen years – ever since we stopped living in the same city. He’s a prolific and eloquent writer and these qualities also exist in his musical life – he’s a singer and a songwriter.

K— made an appearance in a dream recently so I took that as a sign that it was time to pen him a letter.

Mmm...soft downy greetings.... This is one of my DIY Restoration Hardware Catalogue envelopes.

That postage stamp commemorates the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic. The design is by Dennis Page and Oliver Hill. Nice job gents. Check out this short video clip of Dennis Page discussing the making of this domestic stamp and the international one. And he’s totally right about the metallic ink. Beautiful touch.
